For several months, members of our fellowship have been seeking the LORD in prayer and fasting. We have been praying because the LORD has called us to hold events calling men to repent. A commission the enemy has not liked and has tried in many ways to prevent. Praise God, the LORD’s plans cannot be thwarted!
Just over a week ago, during a time of prayer, the LORD said to me that He was going to show me the condition of the church and that I was not to worry, that I would be OK, for the LORD would keep me. Now, when the LORD said this, I did not understand what would happen, but I knew that as the LORD showed me, it could be life-threatening, but that God would keep me safe – below is a brief summary.
Over the next week, I became very fatigued. My energy was sapped, and I found it difficult to concentrate. It even felt like I had stopped hearing from God—it was such a strange feeling, especially as I was spending time praying, reading my Bible, and drawing close to the LORD. It was like there was a barrier between me and God—one I could not break through.
Then, after a week, I was on a night shift, and I had chest pains and tightness in my chest; the pain radiated into my left arm. Instantly, I commanded this to stop, and I declared the promises of God over myself. The pain left, but I was left fatigued and with a heavy head – such pressure.
I tried to continue working, but I could not; the fatigue intensified, and I felt cold and clammy. Consequently, I left work and drove home.
The next day, under duress, my wife made me visit my GP, who was shocked that I was not on any medication after suffering a heart attack 15 years ago. I informed Him that God had healed me, and I was fine. He said, “I needed to be on medication,” I declined and said, “My life is in God’s hands, and I am more than ready to meet my maker.” He replied by stating, “That is very philosophical, your only 48” I said, “I know where I am going, do you?” my GP did not respond.
Unhappy that I would not have any medication, he arranged for me to return for further tests and made a referral to a cardiologist. He then told me to rest and take things easy.
I have been seeking the LORD regarding what transpired, especially as the LORD miraculously healed me 15 years ago after having a heart attack. When seeking the LORD, He reminded me that He was showing me the state of the church. I then felt the LORD say to me:
The church has a severe illness of the heart that needs emergency attention; if untreated, it will bring death – heart attack due to calcification of the arteries. When a person comes to faith, they receive a new heart, but over time, my people have drawn away from me. They think they are worshipping me through their social agendas and various activities, but they are not. They have forgotten their first love. They have a form of godliness; this is nothing more than spirituality – not a relationship with the Living God. They have twisted and compromised my word and thus errored into sin.
My people need to repent, stop what they are doing and allow me to circumcise their hearts. If they do, they will be transformed – healed.
The LORD showed me that just as He healed me of a heart condition, this is what happens when a person comes to faith: They have a transformation of the heart. However, over time, they have become spiritual and sinful, thus distant from God.
My fatigue and feeling of not being close to God, even though I was praying and reading the Bible, were a picture of the church. They are busy doing social action and spiritual things, but what they are doing does not honour God, so they have become distant from God. Furthermore, because they have turned their ear away from God’s instructions, then, God cannot hear their prayers until they repent. Consequently, what they do is in their own strength, which brings fatigue. Repentance is what is needed to reconcile us back to God.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. (Prov. 28:9)
My encounter with my GP is like the church leaders; they prescribe earthly solutions to spiritual problems. Consequently, they cannot fix/heal the problem. They only deal with symptoms. They have replaced their relationship with God with spirituality and God’s word with worldly wisdom.
The referral to the cardiologist and being told to rest is what the LORD seeks of His people: that they would Be Still and know that He is God, that they are still, desist from what they are doing and draw close and visit with the Great Physician – the ultimate cardiologist that does not only heal the body but also the soul.
The church is sick and needs radical life-sustaining treatment – it needs to repent and turn from what it is doing as it draws close to God.
The malady of the church is affecting every aspect of its existence. Yet, the LORD will deal with it. He will remove those who stand in His way.
Currently, the enemy is seeking to stop what God is doing. The devil is outraged at people seeking the LORD in repentance.
God is moving, and He is calling His people to repent and walk humbly before Him as God prepares His people to endure through the coming days. Only by submitting to God can we endure, as we make the LORD our habitation.
Please pray about what the LORD has shown. There is more, but this is all I can reveal at present.
May the LORD bless you and keep you.
